Chief’s Auto Care Academy is a new and innovative “hands-on” automotive education center founded and operated by a retired U.S. Army Warrant Officer. With over 40 years of experience in vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance, Chief and his team are transforming the way drivers care for their vehicles every day. In an era of rising costs, motorists are looking for practical ways to save money and extend the lifespan of their vehicles.

Chief’s own automotive maintenance training began as a young teenager trying to keep his first car from falling apart, to an extensive career which includes 24 years as a U.S. Army automotive technician collaborating with international militaries, followed by roles as a commercial fleet manager, a contract supervisor with the Royal Thai Army, a logistics asset at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, and finally as a retail parts specialist.

Throughout this diverse journey, one glaring issue consistently stood out: everyday drivers are never taught basic vehicle maintenance. The standard cycle is simply learning to drive, changing the oil, driving until something breaks, and paying a mechanic. Yet, statistics show that nearly 75% of vehicle breakdowns could be avoided with basic, preventative care.

While options exist for driver’s education and high-level technical schools for professional mechanics (such as UTI or MMI), there is a massive gap in between. Chief’s Auto Care Academy bridges that gap by teaching everyday people how to protect their second-largest life investment. The academy's practical courses require no mechanical background or ASE certification; instead, they unlock the essential information already sitting right inside the vehicle's owner's manual.

Automotive Preventive Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS)

This 4-hour course teaches students how to properly conduct a Preventive Maintenance Check & Service (PMCS) inspection on a passenger vehicle.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Explain the purpose of PMCS inspections

2. Identify common vehicle safety hazards

3. Perform pre-operation vehicle inspections

4. Inspect fluid levels and conditions

5. Check tires, lights, brakes, belts, hoses, and battery systems

6. Recognize warning signs of vehicle problems

7. Properly document deficiencies and maintenance concerns

8. Conduct a complete vehicle PMCS inspection safely

Advanced Automotive Training Courses

These Advanced Automotive Training Courses move students from basic vehicle observation to active, hands-on diagnostic and repair procedures. Designed for individuals who want to master the skills needed to safely maintain their own vehicles, preserve their financial resources, and stay out of commercial repair facilities, this course covers critical maintenance systems including lubrication, filtration, visibility, climate control, braking, and electronic onboard diagnostics.

These courses are designed as a one-on-one course. It utilizes the customers’ own vehicle for training. The courses outlined will need to be modified prior to training by the Chief Instructor, to ensure correct data is provided to customers, as per their vehicles, make, model, and year. We reserve the right as to not being able to conduct the training on every customer’s car, as levels of difficulty working on many models are time-consuming, and require more technical components removed for viewing.
